Working with Greater Anglia, Hall Bros was tasked to make repairs to the sunken platform at Derby Road Railway Station in Ipswich.

This project began with breaking out approximately 50m sq. of sunken concrete and tarmac from the rear of the coper blocks to the rear of the platform. Once this was complete, we prepared a sub-base using Type 1 materials to apply approximately 100mm below the top of the coper blocks and compact in two layers.

Following this, our team installed layers of tarmac base course above this, topped with a new 6mm wearing course to leave a clean, smooth and level finish across the platform. The area was then thoroughly cleaned and checked ready for public use.
