Subcontracted by Metropex, Hall Bros carried out major refurbishment works at several major East London train stations as part of Balfour Beatty and Carillion’s East London Rail Enhancement joint venture.
Work was carried out to a number of stations including Wapping, Whitechapel, Surrey Quays, Shadwell and Cannonbury, all of which were closed during the refurbishments. The locations of these stations meant that a majority of materials and waste had to be loaded to the work sites using a large labour force via staircases.
