Working with Greater Anglia, Hall Bros completed a range of improvement works on the platforms of Cheshunt Railway Station in Hertfordshire.

Cheshunt Railway Station - Platform Improvements

Our team was assigned to improve the paving on a platform of the station. This work included the lifting of 170 pieces of block paving, cleaning and stacking ready for reuse. The base was broken out and removed from site, and a new bed installed to relay the restored blocks to the new line and level.

Silver sand was introduced between the relayed blocks to keep the structure rigid and strong. Our team also installed new sand and cement fillet behind the coper and tactile blocks, and raised manhole covers and inspection covers to ensure they are in line with the new levels. Once this was achieved, the whole area was dutifully cleaned ready for public use.

All works were completed at night to minimise disruption to the public.
